Why Do You Need (Secure) Cloud Storage?
Natural disasters - Harvey, Irma, Sandy hurricanes, with more to come, wildfires, earthquakes, sinkholes, mudslides, you’ve seen it all. These events are either increasingly common, or the news cycle makes the spectacular news more easily reported. Either way, when they occur, people who are caught up in them, have very little time to find paper documents and take them before their house, their town, are obliterated with nothing to come back to.
Unnatural disasters such as robbery, arson, even something as simple as carelessness of the protectors of your information (thank you Equifax and OPM) are threats to both your documents and your family photos and videos.
Questions to consider:
Think about your own electronic documents, and plan to assemble them in a secure place. My-Stash is one such service.

Questions to consider:
- Are your important documents in a safe place where you and your family (and attorney, and doctor) can access the valid (electronically) signed copy?
- Can you readily back up the photos and videos you take on your smartphone and share them securely with individuals who you select?
- Is the cloud storage where you keep those documents really not visible by your service provider ?
- Is your cloud storage invisible on the network, unless the guest has a key that you give them?

Do you take videos with your smartphone?
Do you avoid taking videos of family and events, because it is too clumsy to share, or do a backup? Modern smart phones have nice cameras, and any video they capture over a few seconds, might be too large to attach to email, or send by messaging. So some people just avoid taking videos at all, even though they could be very nice to have, because they can only be viewed on the small screen and can't be shared anyway. Commercial cloud file storage services have size limits to videos or files that they will handle: there are ways to pay more every month to overcome various limits that are enforced at lower cost pricing levels.
